Tips for Your Visit

Help us preserve the darkness that makes Noctua special.

Arrive Early

Get here 15-20 minutes before your event starts. This gives your eyes time to adjust to the dark and lets you settle in.

Red Light Only

White light destroys night vision. Use red-filtered flashlights only. Phone screens should be dimmed and set to red/night mode.

No Flash Photography

Camera flashes will affect everyone's night vision. Long-exposure photography is welcome on the deck with staff guidance.

Dress Warm

Even in summer, Flagstaff's 7,000 ft elevation means cool nights. Bring layers, a warm hat, and gloves in cooler months.

Headlights Off

When you arrive, turn off headlights in the parking area and use parking lights only. Our lot uses red-filtered lighting.

Be Patient

Your eyes need 20-30 minutes to fully adapt to darkness. The longer you wait, the more stars appear. It's worth it.

Ready to Look Up?

No reservations required for public stargazing nights or planetarium shows. Just show up, buy a ticket, and let the universe surprise you. For groups of 10+ or school visits, please call ahead.
